Damming of the Housatonic River by Connecticut Light and Power produced the lake along whose shores this park is situated.

Trade you a brass kettle for use of your land for hunting and fishing.

We kicked off the 2009 GPP at Squantz Pond State Park named after the Pootatuck Indian chief Squantz. How appropriate we are ending at another state park associated with the same tribe.

FLOATIE is the Department of Environmental Protection's newest mascot. He reminds you to always wear your PFD (personal flotation device) while in a boat.

The research vessel John Dempsey departs from here to conduct trawl surveys of Long Island Sound.

This location is actually not a state park or forest but is one of the Department of Environmental Protection's district headquarters

Volunteers of this organization maintain over 800 miles of Blue Blazed Hiking Trails in 88 towns throughout CT.

Take a long or short hike, a history walk, a family stroll or lend a hand and give back to a park by participating in a clean-up project.

One of the selected events is one of the two new National Trails in CT designated by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Obama on March 30, 2009.

This location is actually not a state park or forest, but is one of the state's more than 90 Wildlife Management Areas.

Located within this Wildlife Management Area is a Conservation Education Center.
